I rounded out my festival with these final four films. Aisha and I had a great time watching movies, laughing, rolling our eyes, and dancing. I always love when she visits. It is so fun to talk about films with someone after watching.
LUV
This movie had the sexy Common in it. The movie is set over one day in which an uncle and his nephew share a day "doing business" or as most know it as drug deal transactions. I can't say I love the film. I was entertained but probably just cause Common is so dreamy. The little boy in the film did a pretty good job but I feel like the story about street guys just trying to change but the fast drug money keeps entrapping them as been told over and over.
For a Good Time Call
OK this movie was incredibly hilarious but incredibly crude. Two girls live together and run a sexy-time phone line. The crowds that loved Bridesmaids will love this movie which I guess got picked up.
Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie
I adore the Tim and Eric show mainly cause of John C Riley but this movie was AWFUL. I watched some then was so disgusted I just sat in the hall in the theater and pinterested my time away since I had to usher this movie. I once again loved John C Riley in this movie as Taquito, the man-boy who lived in the run down mall that Tim and Eric fixed, but even his presence was not enough to save the movie for me.
Finding North
This is in my top three favorite movies this year. The documentary was focused on the hunger and obesity crisis in America. It was tragically difficult listening to children explain how their tummies hurt and they would imagine their teachers as bananas during class cause they were so hungry. I pretty much cried throughout this film but it also made me want to start volunteering more with the Food Bank.
