I expected Portland to be just like Seattle but it is more the tinier strange kid sister to Washington's giant city. I gotta admit I really liked the city but as an urban planner at heart I love most large cities I visit. It had cute boutique shops, yummy food, tiny pocket parks, a giant bookstore and tons of thrift stores. Daniel and I explored the streets and ate way too much including Voodoo Donuts. Ok they are good but not wait in line 30 mins in the rain good. These donuts provided me with another opportunity to get another state off my list of places to enjoy the circular American treat.
I wore this sleeping bag coat the whole time I was there and I looked like I had an accident in my pants a lot of the time. We also saw the LDS Temple which was soo beautiful. My favorite part of the trip was seeing and staying with old friends. Charlotte and Joe and Meghan and Pete were great hosts. They gave us tons of ideas of things to do and see and eat. I really love that at my ripe age of 27 I have worked to maintain and develop great relationships with such fun interesting people. As always I just feel blessed to have a weekend to explore a new place. I think I could live in Portland but I will not get a nose ring like every other 20 something we saw there.
Emily. We've talked about peeing your pants in public! ESP when you are with cute boys. Oh, geez... We have been NOT roommates for far too long.
