We're Having a Heat Wave

Texas in the summer is like eating a jalapeño. It just gets hotter and hotter the longer you endure it. Despite the heat Scott and I had a fun time kicking it with my family and touring the sights! 

We hung with my family and went to Shiliterbahn all day Friday with Ashley, Warren, Christi, Colton, Caylee, Wyatt, Brielle, James, Brittany, Vance, and Harrison. We had a big crew and only lost Colton and Vance for one hour. Not bad considering it is the largest water park in America. Sorry no photos cause water and phones don't mix but imagine a wave pool lazy river... Pretty awesome! 

That night Scott and I met my old friend Erica and her boyfriend James on the river walk at Boudros for dessert. I loved my coconut flan and Scott liked his brownie. Then we walked to Alamo after I attempted to get bird poop off Erica. That girl has the worst luck with birds. She once was driving down the highway with her car window open and a bird ran into her head and then died... Which she discovered when it's body fell out of the car when she opened her door.

Saturday was an Austin day! Scott and I went to Austin with my brother and his boys. We explored the cathedral of junk which is a ton of stuff this man has collected in his backyard. He turned it into a sculpture that people can climb up!

 After that we traveled to this cool arcade that had over 30 pinball machines. Here are some favorites.. 

We also had lunch in Austin at Torchy's Taco where I devoured my brisket taco called the Crossroads. 

After arcading we enjoyed ice cream at Amy's ice cream where the attendant literally threw my ice cream sample at me cause I looked athletic. The Bee Cave Crunch ice cream was tasty!

We said farewell to my brother and headed to a graffiti park which was neat cause it was huge and you could add your own designs.

Then we engaged in a Segway tour across Austin which was great! I love those.. Super nerdy but great! 

Texas is fun to show people I love but it was the most fun having Scott meet my family. They adored him and just all wanted to talk about him after he left on Sunday. So introducing the man I'm dating to my home and family was successful!
