Queen of Versailles
This documentary was about the rise of the time share company Westgate during the real estate bubble and the impact it had on his family. First of all the family is ridiculous, there is so much excess in their home its gross. I loved all the hilarious paintings in the family's home. I heard this one got picked up so make sure you see it.
The House I Live In
I loved this documentary. It was about the nation's "War on Drugs." It was fascinating to learn about how certain drug crimes result in predetermined jail sentences while murdering, rape and other violent crimes do not have such stringent sentences. I had to close my eyes a lot during the scenes of people shooting up, but a great film.
Shut Up and Play the Hits
LCD Soundsystem is a band I have appreciated for some time. This documentary showed LCD's final concert in New York City while also documenting why the band had chosen to retire at the peak of their success. I felt like I was at the concert and had to hold back my urges to dance since I was sitting in a movie theater. If you like LCD Soundsystem this is a must see. I learn a lot about James Murphy and he has the most adorable dog.
Kid-Thing
My dear friend Emily got me and my pals some tickets for Kid-Thing in Park City, which I requested. And it was AWFUL. It had a Napoleon Dynamite like feel to film but we only could take 45 mins of this movie before we were done-zo. Don't recommend it.
I'm taking a break from movies today cause I got the black lung. But tomorrow I'm back in there.
